Losing your job and becoming unemployed can hit you hard, especially when you have held the same role for a long time. It can harm your self-confidence, your family and your ability to get out and socialise, as well as your income. Unfortunately, it’s a problem that many people in Hull and around the UK have had to face since Coronavirus forced many businesses to shut, sometimes for good.

How we’re helping
We are working with participants from all over the Hull area who have lost their job late in life. We’re offering training courses and practical support to help these members of our community find their way into the secure and rewarding career they deserve. Our support is planned with each participant to suit them and their needs. It includes:
- Training – Participants have recently done Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) courses, first aid training and a range of online courses too.
- Career and educational support
- Help taking the first steps into new places and toward new opportunities.
- Emotional and wellbeing support
If you decide to take part in this scheme, your support will be designed around you and what you want to give you the best chance at the career you want, at a pace that suits you.
